Where to Donate Used Books?
It may be the case that you have a lot of books on your shelf or you have a softness in your heart to donate. I am going to list places where you should donate books if you are looking to do that. So here is the list;

You should donate books to charity. Then those charities give people the books that they are advocating for. Somebody who does not have the means to buy themselves books will get them through the help of a charity you are donating them to. There is an organization called Donation Town. What this organization does is that it connects people that are willing to donate books with charities that are all over America. The pick-up cost for getting the books is free. There are nonprofit organizations that take books. You may have heard of Goodwill. Goodwill is popular in America. Goodwill may be known to you because they donate clothes. But they also donate books. The Salvation Army is another organization. This organization takes donations of whatever you want to donate, so if you are looking for somewhere to donate books, you should check the Salvation Army. These are not the only two nonprofit organizations. There are others too. You should check them up on the internet, or you should go and ask your local community. They may know some charities that you could donate to. There are literacy programs that are domestic and that are also international. If you would like to donate within your own country, go ahead. Still, if you would like to donate internationally, as people would want books for free internationally too, you should look for credible organizations to donate to.
Prison:
There are nonprofit organizations that will accept your books and take give them to prisoners. Prisoners need stuff to do and reading may be a favourite for a lot of them. It is good for the brain, it can also relax them and they have something to do to pass time. And they can get educated and it may even help reform them. There is an organization called Books Through Bars. This organization sends around 2100 books to states including Pennsylvania. That is great amount f books, so you try there. Another organisation that provides books for prisoners is called Books To Prisoners. This organization gets a lot of requests for books. So you should donate to this organization given the fact that they have so many requests. Now, remember when it comes to donating books to prison, there are restrictions. For example, hardcover books are banned.
Library:
If you are a book lover, then a library may be your home. And it may be home to other people too. libraries give people the advantage by giving books for free for the time being. And it is the most obvious place to give books when it comes to booking donating as that is where many people go to read, and your donated books may be on a bookshelf then. But sometimes it may be the case that they do not put your books on the shelf. There is a group called Friends of the Library. What this group does is that if you do not get your book on the bookshelf, they will sell your books at a fundraising event. And fundraising events have a good cause too. There is also something called Little Free Library. What this is, is that there are boxes in the country; with these boxes, you can take or donate a book. The books that you donate in these boxes, should b books that people would want to read. Do not donate coursebooks; instead, you should sell them. Now, this scheme happens in neighbourhoods. It may be the case that your neighbourhood does not have this scheme. So you should start the scheme yourself! It would be a great way for the community to get together through the way of books.
